Legal framework for a world class international financial centre
Welcome to the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre. The Qatar International Court, formerly Incorporating as the Civil and Commercial Court of the Qatar Financial Centre, was established by Qatari law in 2009 as part of a strategy to attract international business and financial services into Qatar.
The Qatar International Court provides a modern specialist civil and commercial court to resolve disputes between institutions and other bodies in Qatar and between entities at the international level outside of Qatar. A distinguishing feature of the Court is its judges who have considerable experience of resolving complex disputes and who are renowned internationally for being totally impartial and independent. The procedures of the Court are similar to those found in common law jurisdictions.
The QICDRC provides a range of dispute resolution services that have been designed in consultation with the world’s leading law firms, corporations and Qatari government leaders and officials. ADR limits the need for Court trials where parties decide an alternative form of dispute resolution better suits their interests and ensures that resolution of disputes is accessible, modern, expeditious, economical and responsive to the needs of global business markets.
